Name these braze-ons

So I've got this frame that I'm looking to start hanging some parts on, but before I do I was hoping to figure out a way to remove these with out destroying the seatstay:






First, anyone out there know what they are used for? I'm guessing it might be for a generator light mount, but that's just a guess. I just want to get them removed (along with a kickstand plate on the chainstays) as they are just one more thing to catch and collect mud on what will probably be a cheap-o 29-er build.
